Emergency Relief: Meeting Immediate Needs

In the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, our focus is on saving lives and meeting urgent humanitarian needs. Many survivors have been left homeless, injured, and without food or water. Our teams are working rapidly to:

• Provide emergency shelters – Thousands have lost their homes and are sleeping in unsafe conditions. We are setting up temporary shelters to provide them with safety and protection.

• Distribute food and clean water – Families are struggling to find food and safe drinking water. We are working with partners to distribute essential food supplies and install emergency water filtration systems to prevent waterborne diseases.

• Deliver medical aid – With hospitals overwhelmed and many injured people unable to access care, we are supplying first aid, essential medicines, and medical support to ensure survivors receive the treatment they need.

Long-Term Recovery and Rebuilding

Beyond the immediate relief efforts, GraceWorks Myanmar is committed to rebuilding lives and restoring hope. The impact of this earthquake will be felt for years to come, and our work will continue long after the headlines fade. Our long-term efforts will focus on:

• Rebuilding communities – Many families have lost everything. We will work to help rebuild community facilities, ensuring people can begin to restore their lives.

• Restoring livelihoods – The earthquake has wiped out businesses and jobs, leaving thousands without a source of income. We will provide livelihood support, vocational training, and microfinance assistance to help families regain financial stability.

• Supporting education for children – With schools damaged or destroyed, children’s education is at risk. We will work to provide educational materials to help children not be left behind as a result of the disaster.
